The ABC News affiliate 13WMAZ is a Georgia-based television station that was first broadcast in 1953. It is the fourth-oldest station in the state and the oldest outside of Atlanta. Its callsign comes from its AM roots as a physics project at Mercer University. The call letters stand for Watch Merced Attain Zenith. As of November 2020, syndicated programs broadcast on WMAZ-DT1 include Live with Kelly and Ryan, Dr. Phil, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Andy Griffith Show, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy!

Syndicated programs broadcasting on wmaz-DT2 include Judge Jerry, The Steve Wilkos Show, Maury, The Goldbergs, Black-ish and Schitt's Creek. WMaTV presently broadcasts 26 hours of locally produced newscasts each week (with four hours each weekday and three hours each on Saturdays and Sundays); in addition, the station produces five hours of newscast every week (With one hour each weeknight) for wmma-DT2.

Unlike most CBS affiliates in the Eastern Time Zone, WMZ does not broadcast a local newscast in the 5:30 p.m. half-hour on weeknights, opting to air syndicate reruns of The Andy Gifford Show during that timelot. Not only did it essentially have the market to itself for its first 15 years on the air, but it was the only reliably viewable station in much of the market until cable television arrived in central Georgia in the early 1980s.
