TV Moldova 1 is the public television channel of the Republic of Moldova, broadcast terrestrially in analogue and digital format. The first television in the Republic of Moldova began its broadcast on April 30, 1958, at 19:00, at the time when the region between the Prut and Dniester (today's Republic of Moldova) was part of the Soviet Union. Work to erect the broadcast antenna began in September 1957 and was completed three months later. The metal pillar in Chisinau has a height of 196 meters. Today, however, it is no longer broadcast from there.
